Cabin by the ocean

Hello, friends

As I sit by the panoramic window overlooking the rocky shore and the vastness of the ocean, I find myself at peace for the first time in a long while.

This isn’t being overcome by the peacefulness of the moment; it’s something I have absorbed over the past year. There’s something special about this place — you can still lose yourself in worries, work, or passive entertainment, but the pull is less. There is space now, and I intend to fill it by writing again.

I don’t pretend to have thoughts no one else has had. I write for introspection, not education — but I’d be delighted if you tagged along.

A small, single-motor aircraft flies low overhead. It has instruments attached to its tail wing and the word SURVEY written in big, blue letters along its side. I wave at it as it vanishes behind the hill. These days, I wave at everyone.

This blog is me waving at you — and if you feel like it, you can wave back.
